Toothed Wheel For a Play-Free Gear Spur Set

Pub Date: 2008-06-19

Pub Number: US20080141811

A toothed wheel is described for a play-free spur gear set, comprising a hub (1), with a toothed ring (2) supported by the hub (1), which ring is split into two partial rings along a dividing plane normal to an axis, namely into a ring piece (3) fixed to the hub and a ring crown (4) mounted to rotate coaxially relative to the above, and an annular spring (5) enclosing the hub (1) with the circumferentially-opposed ends (6) resting on support webs (7, 8) embodied integrally with both partial rings, overlapping each other in the axial direction and arranged behind each other in the circumferential direction of the toothed ring. In order to avoid any overload of the partial rings produced by way of powder metallurgy and to ensure simple constructional conditions it is proposed that the support web (8) of one partial ring extends through the other partial ring in a through opening (9) with circumferential play and the support web (7) of the partial ring with the through opening (9) forms an assembly stop (10) defining the through opening (9) for the other support web (8).

Method for High Throughput Screening for Anitbodies and Proteins Inducing Apoptosis

Pub Date: 2008-06-19

Pub Number: US20080145364

High throughput assays used to identify antibodies and proteins that induce cell death are described herein. It is not necessary to identify the antigens the antibodies are reactive with prior to performing the assays. Instead, libraries of antibodies and proteins, including murine, human, humanized, single chain, and synthetic antibodies, are screened using high throughput assays to identify those antibodies and proteins which cause cell death. Standard technology is then used to screen for cell viability. Antibodies and proteins which induce apoptosis preferentially or exclusively of cancer cells are then isolated, characterized, and may be cloned. A method for cloning antibodies and proteins has been developed, which provides means for rapid identification of the antibody or protein and the gene encoding the antibody or protein, based on the presence of a bar code or unique sequence. A method for high throughput production of antibodies to human proteins has also been developed.

Pub Date: 2008-06-19

Pub Number: US20080143675

An inertial sensing method is disclosed, which is capable of detecting tilting of an inertial sensing apparatus with respect to a specific level surface while using the detection for defining/controlling movements of a cursor displayed on a display, In a preferred aspect, as it is capable of acting as an hand-held input device, a swing of a hand holding the inertial sensing apparatus can be detected thereby and is used for controlling a page change of a display. Operationally, a micro inertial sensing module of the aforesaid inertial sensing apparatus detects changes of gravity caused by tilts of the inertial sensing apparatus and then generates inclination signals accordingly while enabling a wireless transmitter to send the same to a micro processing unit where the inclination signals are filtered and then compared with predefined datum signals so as to enable a cursor control circuit to define/control movements of a cursor displayed on a display according to the comparison. In addition, an effect of vibration measured along an axis of a Cartesian coordinate system of X-, Y-, and Z-axes defining the inertial sensing apparatus can be eliminated by the use of variations of signals measured along other axes of the Cartesian coordinate system. Preferably, by using two Y-axis accelerometers of the micro inertial sensing module to measure a difference of centrifugal forces detected respectively thereby, the adverse affection of centrifugal forces exerting upon the Y-axis can be eliminated.
